To operate a boom type elevating platform, you need to complete a National Unit of Competency. An elevating work platform uses a telescoping device, hinged device, articulated device or any combination of these to raise personnel, equipment or materials to perform work up to 11m. Duration 1 day.
The length of the boom is the greater of either the:
- Vertical distance from the surface supporting the boom-type elevating work platform to the floor of the platform with the platform extended to its maximum height
- Horizontal distance from the centre point of the booms rotation to the outer edge to the platform with the platform extended to its maximum distance
Requirements
- Participants must wear steel capped footwear. STO can provide Hi Visibility Clothing and Hard Hats. For any specific PPE requirements please contact STO
- Participants must provide 100 points of Identity and be a minimum of 18 years of age. Please see evidence of identity form
- English language skills need to be sufficient to understand and comprehend written and verbal instructions
- Numeracy skills are needed to interpret calculations and formulas

Certification
On successful completion of this course, participants will be issued with a Notice of Satisfactory Assessment for Operate a elevating work platform up to 11m – RIIHAN 301D
